Walter T. Rohan was born on June 28th, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York. Walter passed from this life on September 4th, 2018. He was a devoted husband to Barbara, beloved brother to Trudy Persson (Jim) and Richard Rohan (deceased). Dedicated father to Kevin (Trish), Michael (Debra), Peter (Janice) and Colleen Garrod (Frank). Proud grandfather (Poppy) of Jason, Amber, Jordan, James and Molly.

Walter lived his early years on Long Island, NY where he thrived as a business owner and entrepreneur. He served his country as a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After returning home from the war Walter actively competed in national roller skating competitions with Barbara and eventually they opened two roller skating rinks. He was an avid boater and enjoyed fishing. After living aboard their own boat for ten years, Walter and Barbara decided to "upgrade" and began enjoying world cruises on the "big ships" where they learned to enjoy ballroom dancing.

Walter's commitment to serve his community continued as a member of the St. Joseph's Parish, Stuart, Florida having served as a lector and usher. For over 20 years he was the Director of Carpenter's Kitchen which provides hot meals to the needy. Walter went on to volunteer regularly at the Salvation Army Family Store in Stuart, Florida.

On April 14th, 2018 Walter was privileged to participate in the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. where he and other Southeast Florida veterans were honored for their service to our country. Friends and family will always remember Walter for his quick wit, sense of humor and sage advice. Walter "called them like he saw them."

A Mass of Christian Burial has been scheduled for October 6th, 2018 10:00am at St. Joseph's Church, Stuart Fla. with a reception to follow in the Family Center.
