Sonny was born in Queens New York on January 10th 1931 to Walter William Werner Sr and Mildred Schneider Werner. He is survived by his wife Jeanette, Son Wesley and wife Robin, Daughters Debbie and husband Bill and LeeAnn and Bill, Sister June Powell,5 Grandchildren, 6 Great-grandchildren Nieces and Nephews.

His artwork will forever be enjoyed by those fortunate to possess: his operatic voice will remain in the minds of those fortunate to have heard. From his performances with the great Guy Lombardo to his APBA winning boat racing days #999, he was blessed with extraordinary talents.

The Freeport Choral gave him a chance to showcase his beautiful Tenor voice that rivals the likes of Pavarotti. Bigger than life itself Sonny will live on in the hearts of countless people as they recall the energy love enthusiasm and excitement he brought to each and every one of us.

To those who never met him, he was quite the Man To those who knew him, quite the Character- He WAS The Student Prince!
