IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wanda Faye
Bushman
January 17, 1934 – July 11, 2024
Wanda Faye Bushman (Scott), 90, passed away peacefully under the care of Treasure Coast Hospice on July 11, 2024. She has rejoined her loving husband, Bob to whom she was married for nearly 64 years.
Born on January 17, 1934 in Rio, Florida, Wanda lived a full and vibrant life. She was the loving wife of Robert Bushman Sr., who predeceased her by six years. Together, they raised two sons, Bobby and Chris, who will forever cherish her memory.
Having met while Bob was in the Air Force and stationed at Patrick AFB, they shared a long distance love story for just 4 short months before getting married on March 28, 1954. Wanda and Bob built their life in Palm City, where they remained their entire lives.
Wanda was not afraid of hard work. She proved that time and again throughout the years, but she exemplified that more than ever when she attended Fire Academy at the age of 49, becoming one of the first female firefighters in Martin County. Wanda was never one who was afraid to get her hands dirty. From her childhood, where she fished and explored the river daily, to the fire grounds, to her beautiful yard which she took great pride in, you'd never see her sitting on the sidelines.
An avid reader, artist, and gardener, Wanda had many interests that filled her days. Her beautiful paintings can be seen proudly displayed in the homes of her children and grandchildren. Her orchids and gardens were always a source of great pride. However, her greatest point of pride was her family and friends. Wanda was always involved in her family's many hobbies and activities.
Wanda is predeceased by her beloved husband Robert Frank Bushman Sr., her parents Foy and Alberta Scott, her sister Betty Greenfield, and her brothers Gene Scott and Wayne Scott. She is survived by her two beloved sons, Bobby Bushman (Dena) and Chris Bushman (Kay), her five grandchildren, Robbie (Jeanine), Becky (Sean), Ashley (Jason), Jeff (Samantha), and April (Phil), ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Her family and friends will remember her for her warm smile, her embracing hugs, her amazing stories, and her unwavering love.
There will be a visitation on July 22 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at Treasure Coast Seawinds. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place at Forest Hills Memorial Park at 1:00 pm.
