It is with great sorrow that we mourn the passing of William (Bill) Hook, Sr., born in Camden, New Jersey on April 7, 1933 and died at home in Ft. Pierce, Florida on September 22, 2024. He is predeceased by his parents, Easter Joseph Hook and Florence M. Hook, his sister, Doris Hook Veach, his son, William R. Hook, Jr., and his grandson, Eric J. Sonberg and two of his dearest friends who were like brothers to him, Harry Houston and Jack Coombs.

Surviving family is "the love of his life" his wife of 72 years, Florence M. Hook, daughters, Rita Sonberg (Bob), Debra Lynn Jones (Les), and Cheryl Daymon (Dennis), granddaughters, Melissa McCrickard, Amanda Jones, Krystal Hook Cedeno and Jonyl Cassone, grandsons, Craig Sonberg, Byron Jones, Joshua, Zachary and Julian Daymon, twelve great-grandchildren and John Hanlon.

Bill served as a Seaman in the US Navy on the USS Tanner AGS-15 surveying ship. He raised his four children in southern New Jersey and was trained there in the dry cleaning business by his father. He moved his family to Florida in 1972 and opened drycleaning businesses Inlet and Crosstown Cleaners in Jupiter, Florida.

He was saved by the Lord Jesus later in life and enjoyed reading his bible. He loved being with his family and playing 500 Rummy with his sons-in-law whenever he had the opportunity.

A memorial service is planned in his honor at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home, 950 SE Monterey Rd., Stuart, Florida on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Westside Church, 3361 S. Jenkins Rd, Ft Pierce, Florida 34981.
