It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Thomas Dennett on November 7, 2015 in Stuart, Florida.
Bill was born on April 4, 1935 in Cooperstown, New York, son of the late Barbara (MacGregor) Dennett and Herbert G. Dennett.
He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Patricia; his children, Denise Higgins (Jeffrey), Lisa Hoffman (Ric), Patricia Capra (Joe), and William T. (Tom) Dennett, Jr. (Mary). He also leaves grandchildren, John Schwemin III, Heather and Shaina Hoffman, Sarah Czepizak, Justin, Jaimie, and Jake Capra, Tyler and Brittany Dennett, and great grandchildren, John Schwemin IV and Zoey Czepizak. He leaves sisters, Helen Hunter (Mike), Carolyn Williams (Ed), and Margaret Leskowitz (deceased), and his beloved Scottie Dog, "Mike".
As a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Bill cherished the time spent with his family.
During his working career, Bill served his country in the Naval Reserve, worked at Newport Shipyard, Dennett Colonial Gardens and retired as master gardener for the Newport Restoration Foundation. He was a great lover of fishing, gardening, reading and all creatures great and small. His favorite fishing spots were Sachuest Beach and the Ocean Drive.
There will be a private service at the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home in Stuart.
A Celebration of his Life will be held in Rhode Island in the spring when the striped bass roam
