Obituary

JENSEN BEACH - William R. Loihle, Jr., 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at his residence. Loving husband of 55 years to Elaine Kuhnle Loihle; beloved father to Jacqueline Collins and husband Gary of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Colleen Loihle of Jensen Beach, and William John Loihle and wife Nicole of Palm City; devoted grandfather to Michael and John Collins and Andrew and Zachary Loihle; brother in law to Jack Kuhnle and wife Louise of Tampa, Florida; cousin to Leslie Layton of Fort Pierce. He was predeceased by his brother Howard Loihle of Forked River, New Jersey.

Born in 1936 in Newark New Jersey, William was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Brooks) Loihle. He was a 1954 graduate of Atlantic Highlands High School.
After high school he honorably served in the United States Navy on the USS ROWE DD-564. After being discharged from the Navy he lived in Highlands, New Jersey where he worked for New Jersey Bell and served as a volunteer fireman. He moved to Florida in 1972 where he worked for Bell South until his retirement in 1991.

As a young man he worked at a marina in Highlands, New Jersey. His love of boats and fishing continued throughout his life. He built and raced Jersey Speed Skiffs.
He loved his time with his family in the Florida Keys looking for lobster.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of His Life to be held on Saturday, February 11th from 2-5:00 pm in the Chapel of The Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, where Military Honors and Presentation of the Flag will be rendered at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions as a memorial may be made to The Robert and Carol Weissman Cancer Center, 501 SE Osceola Street, Stuart, Florida 34994.
