William Denver Mitchell, age 77 of Port St Lucie, FL passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at St. Lucie Medical Center. Bill was born August 1, 1935 in Pembroke, GA to the late Council and Bertha (Graham) Mitchell. Bill served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and went on to work for 40 years as a mechanic, owning his own transmission repair shop in Atlanta, GA for 20 years. He enjoyed racing cars, hunting, riding his motorcycle and was an avid gun collector. Bill also created the first windshield repair process. After retiring in 1998 Bill split his time between his home in North Carolina and Florida. Surviving are his children, Heidi (Timothy) Monsour (grandsons, Noah and Quinn Monsour) of Palm City, FL, Stuart Mitchell of Atlanta, GA, Melvin, Randy and Timothy Mitchell, all of New Mexico, Gwen Limmer of New Mexico; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Hazel, Margaret and Elsie; brother, D.C. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Thelma, Gene and Algerine. Per his wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse (PO Box 3000; Boone, NC 28607).
