On March 24, 2023, William "Bill" Grant Orr, of Stuart, went to heaven to be with the Lord after a two-year battle with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP); he was 68. Bill was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Thomas and Betsy Orr in September 1954. He attended Miami-Dade College and earned a degree in criminal justice. He played golf professionally on the semi-professional tour. He later went on to become an ordained minister in Blue Ridge, Georgia and led a recovery ministry called Celebrate Freedom.

Bill was an embodiment of laughter and joy. He always made life fun, quite the jokester – from cracking jokes to playing pranks, he knew how to make everyone laugh. Bill also had a special gift of encouragement that touched many lives over the years. He was able to use his personal experience with recovery to help others come to know healing through Jesus Christ. He encouraged so many to fully rely on God through all circumstances.

Bill enjoyed boating and fishing locally and in the Florida Keys; and he enjoyed playing golf. Above all, Bill loved spending time with his family and cherished every moment with them. He was the best husband, father, brother, uncle and grandpa.

Bill is preceded in death by his father, Thomas C. Orr, mother Elizabeth Orr, sisters Helen Boguszewski, and Katie Farley. He is survived by his wife Pamela, his daughter Ashley (Bowen), his step sons Jeremy (Kim) Engel and Jason (Laura) Engel, seven grandchildren, his sisters Rebecca (Tom) DeHaven, Janice Lee Orr, Patricia (Leonard) Topley, his brother Thomas C. (Maryann) Orr, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for any donations to be made to either Butterfly Angel Home Care, LLC, 672 NW Sunset Drive, Stuart, FL 34994 or Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 24, 2023 at 10:00 am at Ascent Church, 4175 SE Cove Road, Stuart, FL 34997.
