On August 14 ^th , 2019, the world lost a great man, Bill Carlson at the age of 81. He was known to always have a smile, and made all he met feel comfortable and welcomed in his presence.

Bill was a Navy man and was especially proud of that in his later years. He was an avid golfer and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed pheasant and duck hunting, especially when he went with his son, and grandson. Bill cherished his friends whether they were from childhood or newly acquired.

Bill is a native of Hinsdale, Illinois.  For many years prior to his move to Florida, he was a member of Edgewood Valley Country Club from which he found many friends. He also sang with the Jolly Boys Mens Glee Club and attended the Hinsdale Covenant Church.  Those memberships brought him great joy.

In Florida, he became active in the Hobe Sound Community Presbyterian Church where he gained a marvelous faith family of new friends and founded a men's group.  Bill had strong faith, and that helped him, and his family get through his illness.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gloria, and his two devoted children, Roger and June (Parrilli).  Bill was also blessed with five wonderful grandchildren, Leigh Harris (Tim), Troy Carlson, and Natalie, Colette and Margot Parrilli. Bill is also survived by daughter-in-law Carol Carlson, son-in-law, Jim Parrilli and brother Linne. Brother Bruce preceded Bill in death.  Nieces Lisa, Lynn, Sabrina, Lauren and Elizabeth, and nephews Bruce Jr., Linne Jr., Patrick, Larry and Daniel, also survive their cherished uncle.

In lieu of flowers, contributions as a memorial may be made and would be appreciated by the family to the Hobe Sound Community Presbyterian Church, 11933 Juno Crescent Hobe Sound, Florida 33455.
