William B. Young, 79, peacefully passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at his home in Stuart Florida.
Born in Hartford Connecticut, William was an avid sports fan and standout athlete. He excelled in scholastic sports and continued to play baseball in Europe as a successful pitcher and player for the United States Army which he joined in 1955, serving in the 33d Tank Battalion.
William went on to coach in the West Hartford Youth Baseball League in Connecticut for many years.
His gift of gab and good nature were enjoyed by his friends and family whose lives he took a keen interest in and devotion to especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by Rita, his devoted wife of 55 years, and sons Norman, Ronald, Brian, and Jason; grandchildren Jared, Jamie, Jennifer, Joshua, Jack and Lily; and sisters Bette Cushman, and Marylyn Young.
Services and Interment with Military Honors will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015, at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
