Wilma (Willy) Dodt of Kings Isle, St. Lucie West, Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away
on her 87th birthday, January 30, 2016. She was at her son, Hal's home in his embrace
and in the presence of her daughter-in-law, Shelley, Granddaughter Kimberly, and
Grandson Aramis and his wife Stephanie at the time of her passing. She was thankful
for visits from her loving extended family, nephew George and his wife Patricia, and
their loving daughters Amy and April, during these past weeks. She was happy for
support from her nephew Scott as well. She was predeceased by her two brothers,
Renny and Harold, and her sister Dorothy.
Willy was born in Smithtown, New York, to Renald and Agnes Blake. After serving
in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, she worked as a psychiatric nurse at
Kings Park Hospital, NY, until her retirement in 1985, whereafter she relocated to
Florida.
Willy can best be described as hardworking and fun loving. She was a warm person
and very supportive of family. She was very active socially at King's Isle and
surrounded by caring and loving friends to her very last day. She loved Kings Isle
and her many friends there, and she thoroughly enjoyed many fulfilling years there.
My mom is, and will always remain, my hero. Thank you Mom, Love Hal.
